Meet the trainer: Andy
Andy Dwyer: Fitness & Nutrition Coach
As a fitness and nutrition coach now in my 60s, I specialise in helping individuals aged 40 and above achieve remarkable body transformations. My journey into health and fitness wasn't always easy. Five years ago, at 5'5" and weighing 90kg, I found myself struggling with the effects of stress and poor eating habits. I knew I had to make a change—not just for my physical health but for my overall well-being. With determination and a focus on learning, I pursued courses in fitness and nutrition, which enabled me to lose 16kg in just 8 months. This personal transformation is what fuels my passion today for guiding others through their own journeys toward health and fitness. (See my before and after photos!)
I have spent years refining my expertise in body transformation —helping clients lose fat, build lean muscle, and gain energy. Whether it’s training women going through menopause or men in their 60s, I’ve seen firsthand how transformative the right approach can be. I’ve worked with women to move from feeling overwhelmed by excess weight to building strong, sexy abs, and regaining their energy and confidence. Through tailored programs, these women have reshaped their bodies and redefined what fitness looks like in their lives.
Currently, I coach men in their 60s, proving that it's never too late to make significant strides in strength and mobility. Age is not a barrier when you have the right guidance. With a focus on functional fitness and personalized plans, I help my clients build lean muscle, increase flexibility, and improve their overall quality of life.
My approach is not just about aesthetics—although toned bodies and visible transformations are often the result—it’s about creating sustainable, long-term health changes. As a certified Precision Nutrition L1 Coach, National Academy of Sports Medicine L4 Nutritional Science coach, and METAFIT coach, I develop programs that are rooted in science and customized to each individual’s needs and goals. I rely on data and careful assessments to build safe, effective plans that emphasize the importance of getting the basics right: proper lifting techniques, movement mechanics, and a progressive strategy tailored to each client’s ability.
Fitness is not a one-size-fits-all journey. I am committed to helping every client—whether they’re just starting out or aiming for a complete body transformation—achieve their best version. My clients’ successes prove that, with the right program and mindset, anyone can experience real change. Together, we focus on strength, endurance, and the kind of health that lasts a lifetime.
